The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the U.S.A. announced in February 2003, a plan to assist families who have had a father or mother called to active duty with the military reserve or National Guard. An Army of Hope, comprised of carpenters, electricians, mechanics, plumbers, attorneys, doctors, accountants, teachers, and professional people and tradesmen of every type, has been mobilized by the Order of Elks. These volunteers will be at the ready to help families of those patriots called to serve our nation. In 2,100 Elks Lodges across America 1,100,000 members are poised to make minor repairs and provide professional services to keep homes functioning until loved ones return. For more than 135 years the Elks have been aiding their communities and making America a better place to live. They continue this mission of service one patriot's home at a time.

 Our Mission

Our mission statement has remained clear since our inception…”To assist our Wounded Warriors and our Fallen Hero families”…and that statement and mission will ring true for the 2010-2011 Elk year.
The Army of Hope Golf Classic in Honor of Arthur “RT” Mayer Jr., will be held on August 6th at Ft Dix’s Fountain Green Golf Course. The Army of Hope, “Troop Support Picnic” will be held at Lacey Lodge #2518 on Sunday September 12th from noon to 4pm. You can get information on both our golf outing (tee/green sponsorships) and picnic on this web site.
We are still at war. The casualties in Afghanistan increase every day at an even more alarming rate. At the time of this writing, six soldiers from New Jersey have made the ultimate sacrifice since our last picnic, and every day the committee holds their breath as we hear of more casualties. These are not single deaths, with the death of a loved one, part of a family, neighborhood and community dies. The parents, the children or grandchildren, aunts and uncles, friends, neighbors, co-workers all lose part of their hearts. You may have seen our tribute banner to the Fallen Heroes, to you they are faces. To this committee we know every parent and met with most of the family members. We shed tears with them and offer what comfort as best we can. The war has fallen from the front pages of the news but not for us. We are trying our best to support out Wounded Warriors and the families of our Fallen Heroes. Please do not forget us when you give donations. The picnic is the only place there will be a donation line and we ask for you and your lodge to make a donation and honor our heroes and let them know their sacrifices have not been forgotten and never will be.
The work of the committee through your donations, have helped many soldiers and families and kept veterans and troops from loosing heat in the winter, being removed from housing and many other day to day survival needs. We just supported the Fort Dix jobs fair to help the many veterans and soldiers get jobs as they return to civilian life or just get back on their feet. They need our help in so many ways.
We will continue to work with the schools to get cards and letters to our troops overseas. We will work to help them in every way we can while they are overseas with mementos from home and items to make life a little easier.
The Army of Hope is committed to our troops and will do everything within our power as Elks to aid and assist them.
On behalf of the AOH committee we say thank you, but most importantly on behalf of our Wounded Warriors and the families of our Fallen Heroes
THEY SAY…. THANK YOU….. THANK YOU…. THANK YOU
Join us on September 12th at our 6th Annual AOH Picnic and meet and mingle with our troops, their families, our Wounded Warriors and the families of our Fallen Heroes. Let’s show them all how much we appreciate their sacrifices so we can continue to enjoy the Freedoms that others have never known.

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS AND THEIR FAMILIES
GOD BLESS AMERICA
GOD BLESS THE BENEVOLENT AND PROTECTIVE ORDER OF ELKS
