|State President message|
I am truly humbled to be the 100th State President of the greatest State Association the B.P.O. Elks have ever seen. In our 100 years, the New Jersey State Elks Association has been the shining light of Elks everywhere. We have been exemplars of the cardinal principles of our order Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity. It is with great pride that I have been selected to lead our Association for the fraternal year 2013/14.
I would like to congratulate Jim “Huntz” Hall and his Team on a successful year. Jim has led the State Association through difficult times and the State Association has excelled by demonstrating his mantra “We Can, We Must, We Will”. Thank you for the past year.
My mantra for this year is “Charity, Community, Commitment – NJ Elks 100 Years of Caring”.
Charity is the cornerstone of our Elk structure and virtue that is vital to our existence as ELKS. Our Charities as Elks are many, but each one is important. No matter what charity you are dedicated to, make it special, for as Winston Churchill stated “We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give.”
Community is what we depend on for our membership and recognition as the Premier Charitable Organization. Display your passion for our charities as we assist our communities and promote joining the Premier Charitable Organization. Only through your continued involvement within your communities will your lodge grow and ultimately our Association.
Commitment is the guiding force that makes our Charities flourish and our Communities strive. We as Elks have a commitment to our Charities and our Communities to continue to carry out the works as ELKS and continue to be the Premier Charitable Organization.
The State Association has displayed an excellence for the past 99 years and my Team and I are committed to give 100% to continue to display that excellence.
I welcome your ideas and encourage you to get involved. For only when you are involved and lending a helping hand do you know what it means to be an ELK!
God Bless Our Nation, Our Troops and the New Jersey State Elks Association.
Robert C Ricker
NJSEA State President
