PEER LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
These guidelines are designed to ensure that all participants in the program enjoy a maximum learning experience in an environment conducive to an exchange of sharing ideas and concepts. All participants are expected to adhere to the rules outlined. Violations of any guidelines will be dealt with in any of the following manners:
1. Private counseling session with a staff member of the NJ State Elks Peer Leadership Conference staff and the advisor.
2. For serious offenses, removal from the program may occur. A parent or guardian will be asked to pick up the student.
Guidelines: ALL SCHOOL RULES APPLY.
1. Attendance: YOUR PAR'TICIPATION AND ATTENDANCE AT ALL ACTIVITIES. WORKSHOPS AND MEALS ARE MANDATORY.
2. Name Tags: Your name tag must be worn during the entire conference.
3. Behavior: All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a mature and orderly manner at all times.
4. Cell Phone Usage: Absolutely no cell phones will be allowed in any of the organized
programs. Cell phones must be turned off and put away during all keynotes, workshops, and other organized programs. No calls or text messaging will be tolerated.
5. Dress Code: Appropriate (school attire) casual clothing is suitable - no revealing clothing, no inappropriate T-shirts containing negative messages or drug/gang related references. Hats are not allowed during workshops, keynote presentations, meals, or general sessions. Attire for the dance is also casual.
6. Visitors: No visitors will be permitted during the conference. If conference participants visit your room, the door must be propped open.
7. Remain in the Hotel: All participants are required to remain in the hotel during the entire weekend. The parking deck/lot, pool and health club are all off limits due to insurance reasons.
8. Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco Free: This conference is promoting a drug-free lifestyle. Given that, drugs, alcohol or tobacco use is strictly prohibited throughout the entire conference. Use of any prescription medication must be accompanied by a doctor's note and must be noted on your health form.
9. Room Check/Phone Usage: All participants must be in their rooms by the designated room check time. Hotel room phone may not be used.
10. Electronic Games/Headsets: Electronic games, portable MPC/CD/radio/cassette players. radios, iPhones. Blackberries. Sidekicks. PDA's, pagers, etc. may not be used during any organized program. We will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items, so it is preferred that these items are not brought to the conference.
