Joyce was initiated into our Order in 2004.  She was awarded Officer of the Year in 2006-07, served as Exalted Ruler in 2007-08 and has been Lodge Secretary since 2008.  She was elected an Honorary Life Member of Hasbrouck Heights Lodge in 2017.   As ENF grant writer for her Lodge since 2012,Joyce has written grants totaling over $75,000.

Ritual is very important to Joyce.  She placed first as All District Leading Knight and Exalted Ruler as well as first place in both the Northeast District Flag and Toast competitions in 2007 and placed 2nd in the State Flag Competition.   She was a District Ritual Judge from 2008-16 and judged two State Ritual Competitions as a Word Accuracy Judge.

In 2008 she was appointed by State Sponsor PGER Arthur Mayer, Jr. to train Lodge Secretaries and oversee Region II Lodge conversion to the new CLMS program.   Over the past 13 years, she has continued to serve and support the NJSEA.  Joyce has been a member of the PEER Leadership Committee since 2009, District Vice President 2010-11, State Editor of the NJ Elk Publication 2012-15, District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler 2015-16.   She has conducted annual training for District Deputy Designates since 2009, continues to train secretaries, assists the Membership Committee in training sessions, and provides district training as requested. 

Joyce has been serving as NJSEA State Secretary since 2015.   As State Secretary she has the working knowledge of all our State Committees and works closely with the State Treasurer and State Trustees with regards to receipts, vouchers, and preparation of the NJSEA Budget.  In addition to serving as State Secretary, Joyce currently holds the position of Co-Editor of the NJ Elk Publication committee, Region II CLMS Coordinator, and Secretary to the Memorial Committee.



Joe Pedone, PDD

Joseph L. Pedone (Joe) was born and raised in Hackensack, NJ and was educated in the Hackensack School system.  From an early age Joe always put his whole self into everything he did,achieving the distinguished honor of Eagle Scout at the age of fourteen.

Remaining true to his roots, as an adult Joe chaired the Hackensack Blue & Gold Scholarship Committee and came up with innovative ways to raise over $200k for Hackensack High School students in just one year, a cause he still actively supports. 

Joe earned an A.A.S. degree from Rockland Community College and graduated from Youngstown State University with a Business Administration Major and an Advertising & Public Relations Minor.  He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

In his professional career Joe was an Executive VP for Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide, a $5 billionAdvertising agency and his acumen in the industry earned him an appointment to NYU’s Board of Directors for Graphic Communication and he was named to the Publishing & Production Executives Hall of Fame.  He earned two Best of Show Awards for his print work producing an ad for the Partnership for Drug Free America.  Prudential recruited Joe to build the infrastructure for a full service in-house ad agency, saving Prudential  $20 million in 3 1/2 years.

As an Elk,Joe has served as Loyal Knight, Leading Knight, two years as Exalted Ruler and DDGER.  He is currently serving as Lodge Trustee Chairman and State, Lodge & District Marketing/Public Chairman. 

Joe’s efforts as State Marketing/Public Relations Chairman resulted in the first ever statewide Billboard Campaign with 72 billboards across the state to help grow the NJ Elks brand awareness at no cost to the NJSEA.

In his first year of membership Joe was Elk of the Year for his fundraising contribution to the Lodge.  He was named Officer of the Year and also received the Park Ridge Mayor & Council Community Service Commendation.

Joe has two grown daughters and is engaged to PER Bev Mancini.  They live in Park Ridge are proud members of Park Ridge Elks #2234.
