New Jersey Elks Scholarship Opportunities
Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Contest
The 2027 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university.
The 2027 applications are available from August 1, 2026 and must be submitted by November 12, 2026.

New Jersey Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarships
The top 24 Most Valuable Student Scholarship applications from New Jersey go on to the national level of judging and will be awarded at least a $4000 ($1000yr/4 years) scholarship and it could be more if any of the applicants go onto the Leadership Weekend. The next 96 runner-ups are awarded a one-time $700 scholarship by the NJ State Elks Association. The 2026 contest winners will be announced in late April 2026.
Elks National Foundation Legacy Awards
Legacy Awards are $4000 ($1000yr/4 years). These Scholarships are for the children and grandchildren (step-child or step-grandchild) of Elks members, who have joined the Order on or before April 1, 2026. New Jersey families will be eligible for at least 10 awards. The Legacy applications will be available on September 1, 2026 and need to be submitted by February 3, 2027 The 2027 winners will be announced in April 2027.

New Jersey Elks Family Scholarship
These $900.00 scholarships are available to children, grand-children and great-grandchildren (step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren) of New Jersey Elks. High school seniors as well as college freshman, sophomores, and juniors can apply. A student should apply each year of eligibility. It runs from April 15th to June 30th each year.
Applications must be submitted to the lodge by June 15, 2026, and mailed by June 30, 2026.

New Jersey Elks Vocational Scholarship
The winners of the New Jersey Elks Vocational Scholarship Competition will each receive a one-time $1000.00 award. There will be two (one male – one female) $1000.00 Vocational Scholarships awarded in each of the twelve Elks’ Districts in New Jersey for a total of $24,000.00 in Scholarship Awards.
It is for students who have completed their secondary education requirements and plan to attend or are attending a post-secondary school to pursue a certificate or credential in a vocational or technical program. Post-secondary schools include vocational or technical schools. Students attending a two year community college are also eligible as long as they are pursuing a certificate or credential. Students planning to earn an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree are not eligible for this scholarship program.
This scholarship is available to graduating high school students or within four years of earning a high school diploma or a GED. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of New Jersey on the date that the application is submitted.
Applications must be submitted to the student’s local Elks Lodge, postmarked between March 5, 2026 and May 12, 2026.

New Jersey Elks State Antlers Scholarships
The New Jersey Elks State Antler Scholarship is available to New Jersey Antler Lodges. Two $1000 Scholarships will be awarded per district, one male & one female member. The Scholarship is open from February 15th to March 31st. The completed Scholarship Application (click here) needs to be submitted to an Antler Advisor and the form (click here) needs to be sent with the application. Student needs to be an Antler member for more than one year. Complete information is on the application.
New Jersey Elks Special Children’s Committee Scholarship
The Special Children’s Committee awards two $10,000 scholarships ($2,500 per year) and two $4,000 scholarships ($1,000 per year). They are awarded to two graduating male high school seniors and two graduating female high school seniors from the State of New Jersey. In early November applications are available online at NJElks.org and are also sent to schools throughout New Jersey. They are due back by April 10th. Applications can be found at SCC Scholarship or at njelks.org under the Special Childrens Committee.
