Grand Exalted Ruler 2017-2018
“Strengthening Elkdom Through Community Awareness”
On Wednesday, July 12th at the Grand Lodge Session in Reno, NV, the hearts of every member of the New Jersey State Elks Association swelled with pride as the fifth Grand Exalted Ruler from our great State, Malcom J. McPherson, Jr. from Lyndhurst Lodge No. 1505 was sworn in.
Malcolm was initiated into Lyndhurst Lodge in March, 1981; and after proceeding through the chairs, served as Exalted Ruler in 1986-1987. He served as District Deputy for the North Central District in 1995-1996 and served as President of our Association in 1999-2000. Malcolm has served on various Grand Lodge Committees including Ritualistic, Committee on Judiciary, and Justice of the Grand Forum completing his term as Chief Justice of the Grand Forum. He has been serving as the Special Deputy for the State of New Jersey since 2009.
Malcolm holds a baccalaureate degree in history from Seton Hall University and juris doctorate from Seton Hall Law School. He entered the state bar in New York in 1981 and New Jersey bar in 1982. He has served on various township committees in Lyndhurst and is the former legal counsel for the Passaic County Elks Cerebal Palsy Treatment Center (NJEDDA).
